Natalie, a mother of three, had her first stroke at just 31 - overnight and without warning. A year of recovery followed, and she fought hard to regain her mobility for her kids. Life had returned to a good place… until her second stroke struck in 2017. This time, it took her hearing in one ear, vision on one side, and movement on her right.

“I didn’t know how I was going to cope. But I had to.”

With support from the Stroke Foundation and now Neuro Connection, Natalie has slowly rebuilt again, physically and emotionally. She now attends two classes a week and continues to make steady progress.

But Natalie’s recovery isn’t just personal — she’s building community, too. She started a fortnightly coffee group for young stroke survivors, creating a safe space for others to connect, share, and support each other.

“The programme helps me so much. And now, I can help others too.”

Today, Natalie has returned to her passion — coaching netball at a local college. Her story is one of true resilience, courage, and community.
