After a severe seizure left Eddie with a spinal cord injury and a broken neck, he began his rehabilitation journey at Neuro Connection with a bit of hesitation and his signature sense of humour.

“I came thinking I was going to get fixed… maybe with massage. But instead, I found a place full of laughter.”

Six years on, Eddie has built strength, balance, and greater independence through regular standing work, strength training, and stretches that help relax and reconnect his body.

“We’re all here to improve. Some days are harder than others, but you always learn something new.”

My goal is to run alongside or past Usain Bolt, not in my wheelchair, I’m not allowed to go that fast, 100 metres in 9.86 seconds. But who knows?
